VEINER TOOL

20. The veiner is generally used to pattern leaves, stems and scrolls. They are available in a wide variety of sizes, patterns, and curvatures. Usually used tipped to the left or right, it can also be used vertically. 21. When veining, the impressions should be evenly spaced, and curve gracefully along the stem or scroll.
22. As the stem narrows, more tilt is used. This allows the veiner to make a narrower impression. 23. Be sure to change the angle of the tool as you go around curves such as the ends of scrolls.
